Baby Wren

I heard this little guy through the kitchen window and saw him sitting on the ground looking pathetic. I summoned help and then went out to find it. It was too young to fly properly so I caught it, gave it a chance to fly, and then held it while my Dad went and got a ladder to put it back in the nest with the others. He had a bit of trouble getting it to go through the nest hole, it jumped down twice but my Mum managed to catch it both times! It went back with its sibling eventually and hopefully next time it leaves it will be a bit better at flying!

For anyone interested it's a European wren, Troglodytes troglodytes.

Anyway, soooooooooooooooo cute! I mean really, just too cute!
